Diffractions of gender and translation: towards another cartography of situated knowledge

The phenomenon of translation – understood as a socio-discursive practice, historically inscribed in power relationships – participates in the epistemological violence through planetary circuits that potentialize the circulation of determined feminist thought disregarding others. By revealing the existence of knowledge coloniality, decolonial feminism problematizes the theoretical corpus, canons, and Western genealogies that reproduce some knowledge and hide others. This work aims at examining the perspectives of some Latin American theoreticians considering the notion of theory traffic and its purpose of epistemological disengage. These diffractions feed the reflections about gender, allow to imagine, and build another cartography that puts light on a plurality of perspectives and social subjects materialized in realities and local epistemic configurations, breaking then the asymmetry of the feminist dialogues on a worldwide scale.
