CHICO BENTO EM INGLÊS:
UMA PROPOSTA FUNCIONALISTA

O objetivo deste trabalho é trazer alguns exemplos da tradução de quadrinhos do Chico Bento proposta pela autora do artigo em sua pesquisa de mestrado. A tradução proposta possui enfoque funcionalista e traz o conceito de pseudodialeto, caipira sugerido por Bagno (2011). Partindo-se do princípio de que os quadrinhos do Chico Bento retratam, ficcionalmente, o caipira brasileiro, e que a fala dos personagens seja uma tentativa de representação do cenário caipira dessas histórias, a tradução proposta busca manter o pseudodialeto caipira representado nos quadrinhos, além de adaptar tais quadrinhos ao seu leitor final, conceito da teoria funcionalista de Nord.
