Impactos à saúde e ao meio ambiente

Este artigo tem por objetivo mostrar o processo produtivo do cimento identificando seus impactos à saúde humana, desde a extração de matéria-prima, que gera degradação e contaminação da água e do solo, passando pela emissão de material particulado, causador de muitos problemas respiratórios. No Distrito Federal, na região da Fercal em Sobradinho, a presença de duas grandes fábricas gera impacto à saúde das comunidades próximas. Na Comunidade de Queima Lençol, localizada nas proximidades de uma destas fábricas, há forte poluição gerada pela emissão de material particulado, oriundo da fabricação do cimento, o que vem causando graves problemas respiratórios à população local.
