Após o sucesso do primeiro filme de animação em 1991, adaptação premiada que deu alcance mundial ao tema de A Bela e a Fera, os estúdios Disney lançam um segundo filme em março de 2017, agora em versão live-action, protagonizado pela jovem atriz britânica Emma Watson no papel de Bela, e aguardado com entusiasmo pelo público brasileiro. Acompanhando esse movimento, a editora Zahar acaba de publicar no Brasil uma edição dedicada exclusivamente ao célebre conto de fadas literário francês de título homônimo, em formato de bolso e acabamento de luxo, além do formato e-book. Não é a primeira vez que a Zahar traz a público esse clássico da literatura infanto-juvenil na versão de Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, escritora francesa que o publicou em 1756 (ou 1757, a depender da fonte bibliográfica), em Londres, onde foi governanta de jovens da aristocracia inglesa. Há pelo menos quatro outras edições publicadas pela mesma editora entre 2010 e 2016 que incluem o conto, em ordem cronológica: a edição bolso de luxo Contos de fadas (2010), depois a coletânea Contos de fadas: edição comentada e ilustrada (2013). Em seguida, A Bela e a Fera (2013) na coleção “Expresso Zahar”, em texto único. E, por último, o box Clássicos que brilham no escuro (2016), em volumosas 1088 páginas.
