Redes insurgentes: ¿cómo ayudó el movimiento Black Lives Matter a reorganizar el sindicalismo estadounidense?

La actual ola de malestar laboral en Estados Unidos, evidenciada tanto por la creación de nuevos sindicatos en sectores tradicionalmente no
organizados como por el aumento del apetito huelguista de los trabajadores sindicalizados, fue seguida por un repentino aumento de las protestas en defensa
de las vidas de los negros en un escala global a raíz del asesinato el 25 de mayo de
2020 de George Floyd por la política de Minneapolis. Aunque la literatura que ha
analizado la globalización del movimiento Black Lives Matter descuida la relación
entre la lucha antirracista y la revitalización de los sindicatos, hay mucha
evidencia capaz de revelar esta intersección. En este artículo pretendemos
analizar un caso específico que apunta a una íntima conexión entre la lucha por
la justicia racial y la lucha por la justicia económica: la creación del Amazon Labor
Union (ALU), el primer sindicato de la Amazon del país.
