Social Service and Communication: the paths of information produced by CFESS/CRESS

Abstract

This article analyses the communication carried out by the CFESS/CRESS Group between 2020 and 2021. The methodological approach used refers to exploratory research, based on a bibliographic review, on the relationship between Social Service and Communication, the Group’s National Communication Policy, its publications on websites and information from its communication pieces. The diversity of information produced stands out, especially that related to the category’s causes of struggle, as well as the professional work in social policies under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the image of the profession and the use of ICT by social workers. As conclusions, the strategies for dialogue with the category and society and the communication characteristics of the Group stand out, in addition to the analytical-interventional capacity of social workers, the contribution to the training, work and production of knowledge of the category and the communicational articulation with other diverse social actors that exemplify the capillarity of the Group’s National Communication Policy.
