Organizational memory is critical to preserving organizational data. In this sense, basic education institutions, inserted in the same context of market competitiveness, need to manage their organizational memory to streamline processes and make decisions, in addition to innovating and disseminating previously obtained and treated data. This article aims to propose a research process to manage organizational memory in a basic education network. For this, the Biângulo school, with nine units located in the Federal District, is used as a case study. The Soft System Methodology was used for the analysis and development of the research and the proposed process to manage organizational memory. The results presented made it possible to indicate improvements in a macro process for this school and to propose solutions for the management of organizational memory.
