Joinville City 15 minutes: questions for debate on the application of the concept in Brazilian cities.

The 15-minute city concept for urban planning seeks to promote greater proximity of communities to daily amenities within a 15-minute walking distance. This research sought to evaluate the classification of Joinville, Santa Catarina, as a 15-minute city. To this end, the analysis was adapted considering the available databases. The initial results show that the 15-minute city concept is mostly applied in urban areas. However, this initial simulation provided insights into specific aspects of the Brazilian reality that can be added to the debate on this contemporary concept, making the analyses more precise and contributing to the debate on the integration of public policies into urban planning.
