Demands on the healthcare system nowadays encompasses treatments each time more and more “personalized”, efficient, accessible and low cost. Nowadays, we might say that the so-called startups are the big potential. The startups bring together new thinking ways and producing, with a degree of freedom not present in big entrepreneurs. On this paper we shall discuss the place of startups on the healthcare system, putting together the author’s standpoint with readings from the internet. The objective of this work is pinning down how imperative are the startups endeavors, if well-motivated, for supporting the personalized medicine endeavor achieving their goals, bypassing the dilemma of cost vs. personalization. The motivation for the aforementioned issue is that notwithstanding the academic development of the universities, several countries, including Brazil, do not have a continuous and daily pipeline between science and goods for the society. In summary: startups present themselves as the best option for tackling with several issues that came up on the healthcare community in the last decades and so, e.g.: increase in cost and demand for treatments designed for the patient.
