Piper aduncum L. essential oil to attract fruit bats for ecological restoration

We aimed to evaluate the attraction of fruit bats using Piper aduncum essential oil, in two treatments: 1) artificial fruit with essential oil; and control. The essential oil was efficient in attracting Artibeus lituratus. Results suggest a tendency to attract bats as well the need for new studies.
