This project was carried out at the school farm of the State University of Maranhão (Fazenda Escola da Universidade Estadual doMaranhão – UEMA), for evaluating the chemical composition of the equine manure compost with leucaena in different proportions. The treatments were T1, witness, pure equine manure. T2, 75 Kg of equine manure + 25 Kg of leucaena; T3, 50 Kg of equinemanure + 50 Kg of leucaena; T4, 25 Kg of equine manure + 75 Kg of leucaena. After 67 days of the beginning of the composting, resulting samples from each treatment were collected for chemical composition analysis: Organic Matter level (OM), pH,Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Hydrogen and Aluminum (H + Al), Carbon, and Nitrogen.According to the obtained results, the treatments statistically differed from one another when related to the evaluated parameters:T2 (75 Kg of equine manure + 25 g of leucaena) presented high values compared to the witness (T1), in the OM levels (14,9%); P(857mg/dm3); and Mg (77,5 nmol/dm3), associated to a low acidity pH (6,5), resulting in an excellent quality compost. Alltreatments present chemical characteristics within satisfactory levels in terms of soil fertility required by most of species cultivated in Brasil
