This vol. 9, n. 17 of PatryTer – Latin American and Caribbean Journal of Geography and Humanities pays tribute to Dr. Amalia Inés Geraiges de Lemos, Full Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of São Paulo (USP), for her outstanding contributions to Geography and dedication to the study of cities in Latin America. Geraiges de Lemos began her Geography studies at the National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina, in 1957, graduating in 1963; thus, she will have dedicated 63 years to the discipline in 2026.
