Cet article vise à étudier les projets de l'architecte Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969) de 1923 à 1938, considérés comme une exploration particulière de l'idée de l'architecture comme géométrie, en particulier de l'espace délimité par des surfaces planes verticales et horizontales. Nous voyons cette recherche de l'architecte comme une constante, avec le développement de ses propres ressources, à partir de projets idéaux non construits, de projets réels non construits, d'espaces d'exposition temporaires et de bâtiments construits, à différents degrés d'intensité.
