This paper deals with two types of predicates in Manxineru (Yine), a language belonging to the Aruak Familly: verbal and non-verbal predicates, which have respectively verbs and adjectives as nucleus. We show that Manxineru has an active-stative alignment, and that tense is expressed lexically in the syntactic structure of sentences. We also present some considerations on the expressions of aspect, mood and modality in that language
