Abstract

This article aims to conduct an analysis, based on the historical approach of Critical Discourse Analysis, of some linguistic acts present in the demonstrations supporting the impeachment process of Dilma Rousseff, which took place in 2015 and 2016. To delimit the corpus, textual genres were considered that, in addition to demanding the removal of the elected president, called for a process of military intervention in Brazil, recalling the memory of the military dictatorship period. In light of the interpretation of these discourses, as well as the historical assumptions that enable their realization, it is considered that certain factions of the Brazilian right-wing use misleading narratives about the Brazilian dictatorial period, along with remnants of anti-communist discourse, to build a movement that threatens the Brazilian democratic state.
