This study aims to analyze the discursive strategies used by those affected in the breakdown of the dam owned by the company Samarco, recorded in four editions of the newspaper "The Siren: Not to Forget". The issues are constituted in a counter-hegemonic media space created to give voice to those affected and record their narratives. For this, the corpus was analyzed in light of Charaudeau's theory of communicational contract and the heterogeneity shown in Authier-Revuz's discourse. The main conclusions are that the newspapers materialize these discourses through testimonies that approach the lived experiences and explore their losses, personal dramas, mourning, memories and expectations. It creates, with the newspaper, a legitimating space of autonomy and empowerment.
