This year, 2026, marks the 60th anniversary of the death of Jorge Camilo Torres Restrepo in combat. His legacy, his thought, and his political impact are a benchmark in Latin America and the world. His life constitutes the most radical expression of coherence between thought and action. His understanding of sociology as a committed practice was not limited to the discursive level or academic critique, but rather led him to personally embrace the ethical and political implications of his convictions.
