The language accompanies the development of human perfectibility. In Rousseau's anthropology, the processes that lead the natural man to the policed man are permeated by the institution of language and its developments. The paths of human wills in the Essay on the Origin of Languages (1759) are concomitant to the stages of man described by Rousseau in his Discourse on the origin and foundations of inequalities between men (1755). Our objective in this article is to understand the genesis and advancement of languages as determinants for forwarding of the man towards his humanity. In this sense, we divided this study into three moments: the first relating to natural life and the scream of nature; the second to the birth and development of sociability and passionate language; and, finally, the institution of civil society and writing.
