Through a qualitative analysis proposal, an investigation of the following theme was followed: THE THEATRALIST SHAKESPEARIAN POLICY REPRESENTED IN HAMLET. The political actions and strategies of the character of king Claudius within the government are linked to Foucauldian studies, mainly in Strategy, Power-Knowlegde (2006). Together with a work of representation of palace life, Breviário dos Políticos, by Cardinal Mazzarino (1997), we come to an approximate understanding of the character said to one of the great references noted in the play, which discusses political spheres, the work O Príncipe, by Niccolò Machiavelli (2006). Bloom (2001 - 2004) tell us about this character focused on his political practice and discusses his practice prior to his current state status and his relationship as king. Such articulations point out that in the construction of the character (king) Claudius, within the Shakespearean work, the discourse elaborated by the character is based on seduction. The steps taken by such a character, significantly, lead to discussions that suggest mediation between his character as a dissimulator and the aspects to be able to remain in power, there is a representation of the leader as studied in Machiavelli.
