First, the author presents his understanding of Theatre which he considers an art of polyphonic nature. In such sense, Theatre is the result of the equipollent simultaneity of four discursive instances: image, word, movement and sound. He, then, points out some inconsistencies between this simultaneity nature and the creative processes he participated in. He also highlights not only the greater appreciation of some of these instances but also of the voice of the director during the assembly of a play. Thus, he presents a proposal of polyphonic staging based on his concept of polyphony and organized into eight moments whose principles and procedures the author will describe and analyze in the course of the presentation.
