The theoretical and methodological unfolding of French pragmatic sociology and anthropology has impacted social sciences renewal and innovations in the XX and XXI centuries. From our ethnography paths, which focus on Brazil Quilombo communities' rights assertion processes, we explore a specific aspect of this analytical framework: the relationship between the ordinary and legal forms of judgment and justification inscribed in the formatting (mise en forme), investing and veneering processes, with an emphasis on human beings qualities and states as well as the moral and pragmatic dimensions expressed among these processes. We develop, from our analytical and ethnographic research, a reflection upon this contemporary sociological and anthropological thought's repercussions on classic concepts such as “identity”, “social role” and “ethnicity”, among other related concepts.Downloads
