HEALTH RISK AUDIT: COMPARISON BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL SCENARIO

Risk-based auditing (RBA) detects risks and helps to implement patient safety strategies in healthcare institutions, as they are exposed to various risks in this environment. The objective of this work was to analyze the impact of RBA nowadays, and also to compare the national context with the international context. A systematic literature review of publications related to health risk auditing, risk management and patient safety in health services was carried out between 2014 and 2018. It concluded that management and RBA are already part of systemic institutional administrative policies in foreign studies, where assistance and administrative sectors work together to develop guidelines, training and digital systems that reduce errors and bad practices. In the national scenario, there is still a lack of understanding regarding the scope of patient safety and risk management. It is essential in the national scenario to develop ABR as a tool of quality and strategic management, in order to reduce costs while guaranteeing quality.
