Abstract

Health services such as group therapeutic activities can provide a change in the hospital routine with positive experiences of welcoming, well-being, socialization and interaction with health professionals. Thus, this article reports on the experience of an interdisciplinary team in the implantation and conduction of a Functional Therapy Group (GTF) in a hospital environment, as a strategy for the humanization of care practices. 371 users participated, 52% (193) female. The GTF took place once a week in a welcoming environment, with playful activities, group dynamics, physical exercises, stretches and talk wheels. Users' adherence was observed, meaning the GTF a moment of socialization and interaction with health professionals. The GTF was recognized as part of the humanization actions by the Hospital Humanization Working Group. The GTF provided a new way of caring / rehabilitating, with professionals being active agents in this process of changing health care.
