Competências gerenciais: opinião de enfermeiros no contexto hospitalar

Abstract

The objective was to identify
the opinions of hospital nurses on the
managerial competencies of their
coordinators, as well as the selfassessment
of these managers on thesame competencies. Descriptive, crosssectional
and quantitative research. The
sample (n=63) consisted of nurses from
care units (n=53) and nurses
coordinators / managers of sectors
(n=10) from a public university hospital
in Paraná, Brazil. Participants answered
a questionnaire to extract sociodemographic
variables, related to
training and work; and to a Lickert scale
of seven points related to the
performance of managerial
competencies of the coordinating
nurses: decision making; leadership;
administration and management;
communication; and permanent
education. To the tabulated data,
descriptive statistical analysis was
carried out on measures of proportion.
The female gender (87, 3 %) prevailed
in the sample; training in public
universities (74, 7%); and the absence
of another employment relationship (84,
1%). The managerial competencies of
the coordinating nurses were positively
appreciated both by the nursing
assistants and their self-assessment,
with emphasis on leadership and
communication. It was concluded that,
in the perception of the subjects, the
managerial competencies of the nurses
coordinating the hospital sectors tend to
perform well.
