Piatai Datai:
no tempo de Makunaimî Arte, Ensino e Comunidade em uma Galeria de Arte Indígena Contemporânea de Roraima
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the results of cultural, artistic and educational experiences undertaken by the Supervised Internship component at the gallery of Contemporary Indigenous Art by the Macuxi artist Jaider Esbell and at the Sesc gallery in Boa Vista – Roraima (2019) by students of the Degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Roraima - UFRR. From practices, multidisciplinary and decolonial mediations undertaken in the exhibition "Piatai Datai", curated by the artist together with Paula Berbert. Curation and educational work were transformed into territories of fluid borders, dialogues, disputes and negotiations around the artist's trajectory, his visual production, his cosmologies and cosmovisions belonging to the ancestry of the Macuxi people. The works that made up the exhibition investigated the narratives of transformation and resurgence of the artist’s ancestors and the community from ancient times to the present day, fostering transpedagogical and interdisciplinary practices and mediations in the field of teaching.
