The text approaches the construction of the feminine image from the occured social transformations in centuries XVIII and XIX. For this, the influence of the romantic texts is taken in consideration, mainly the French romances. The objective of the text is to display from the book Deslocamentos do Feminino of Maria Rita Kehl, as Flaubert constructed the image of the feminine one of its personage Emma Bovary, example of the bourgeois, bored and unsatisfied woman. In Madame Bovary, Emma symbolizes the image of the bourgeois woman of century XIX that it yearned for something beyond the marriage and of the maternity.
