The Latin American Journal of Criminology invites researchers and academics to submit articles on the theme "Justice, Memory and Peace in Latin America".

The call aims to gather studies that present a reflection on the different issues related to justice, memory and peace in the region. Articles should consider ethnic, racial, gender, class and region diversity as a relevant and important aspect in the discussion of justice, memory and peace in Latin America. The journal values approaches that are inclusive and take into account the perspectives of historically marginalized groups.

The Journal is concerned with institutional violence in the countries of the region, and therefore encourages articles to present critical analyses of institutional structures and their violent practices.
Those interested in submitting articles must follow the standards of the Latin American Journal of Criminology.

The call is open to researchers from different areas of knowledge

We are particularly interested in:

  • Transitional Justice and its challenges for Democracy
  • Restorative justice, human rights, memory and peace
  • The relationship between criminal justice and social peace in Latin America
  • Social peace, police and judicial violence in popular contexts, criminalization of social protest, critical thinking and dissent
  • The meaning of peace in the face of gender and ethnic and racial perspectives in Latin American criminal justice
  • The role of Human Rights in promoting peace and justice in the region
  • The role of civil society in building human rights, promoting peace and justice in Latin America
  • The impact of globalization on Latin American criminal justice
  • The relationship between public policies and criminal justice in Latin America.
  • Comparative studies on Justice, Memory and Peace between Latin American countries
