THE EXISTENTIAL-RELIGIOUS DIALECTICS OF REPETITION: ASPECTS RELATED TO ARISTOTLE AND HEGEL

Abstract

In Repetition, authored by the danish thinker Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, the concept of repetition is presented in its negativity. Aesthetics, irony and recollection, in the experience of the pseudonym Constantin Constantius, as well as poetic, melancholy and guilt, in the drama of the young character, lead to the conclusion that the religious sphere of life would, in fact, be the realm of occurrence of repetition. The work, however, ends without elucidating how the presence of such a phenomenon would occur, which should occur, in the words of the pseudonym itself, by the irruption of the religious. In order to establish bases for understanding the religious dialectic that involves repetition, aspects of its relationship with the philosophy of Aristotle and Hegel will be presented. The analysis of these lines of thought in their confrontation with the concept in question, allows us to conclude that repetition is based on the individual's interest and affirms the temporal and the eternal in a dialectic that refers to transcendence as an existential-religious relationship.
