The aim of this paper is first to contribute towards the attainment of Jonna Bornemark, on her work about the role of corporality on mystical experiences, through the Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy of the flesh. In her article about the mystical understanding of sensibility, the author brings several times a merleaupontian language and even mention the philosopher in some passages, in resonance as much as in contrast to her thoughts. Hence, the purpose of this text is to be a response to the author, as it point out moments of the french thinker’s philosophy, that may have been left behind in her analysis, and how it would probably be a gain to her intuitions, for exemple, when understanding the value of the notion of flesh in his mature philosophy. In other words, the author seems to forget a subtle difference between the phenomenology of perception, with its emphasis on issues regarding the body, and the philosophy of the flesh, developed at his maturity as an indirect ontology, which is done in respect and even embedded in a religious language.
