Discusses some issues related to the peer review process in electronic scientific journals. Presents ideas from authors who have been interested in the relationship between peer review and new information technologies, emphasising the role played by electronic networks such as the Internet in the relationship. Defines electronic journals giving an example from Harnad's model - scholarly skywriting - and includes some comments regarded to the electronic scientific journals acceptance by the scientific community.
