Abstract

Describes the Post-Graduate course on Librarianship of the Federal University of Paraiba which is oriented to train profisionals of high level to plan, organize and teach Public Library systems. The article gives details of its main objectives, research-oriented programs, curriculum, faculty and conditions for admission. It examines reasons for the organization of this Post-Graduate course in the Northeast of Brazil and refers to other Brazilian Post-Graduate courses on Librarianship and Information Science.
