This is a part of a thesis that incorporates among its constructs the human body as an object of scientific research, and the new focus of the healthcare market in Brazil and Argentina. The objective is to present some reflections on aspects of the manipulation of the human body, transmuted into profit object at the healthcare market in Brazil and Argentina. A literature review on the topics: human body, health market, manipulation, human genome, law and bioethics was carried out, to situate the relationships between them. We used a literature review based on books, magazines, newspapers, internet portals and jurisprudential decisions. The observation and experience of the researcher as a healthcare professional were also used. The scientific advances in the history of humanity are undeniable, and it is more exposed now to damage as a result of misinformation on that progress.
