CAUSALITY AND INDUCTION
from the Hume’s criticism to the Popper’s answer

In this article, is introduced Hume’s criticism of his Treatise on Human Nature against the guarantee of causality inferences from psychological arguments and a logical argument. Then, are clarified the details of Popper’s criticism against Hume in his paper Science: Conjectures and Refutations, in which he focuses on a solution to Hume’s Problem ”“ considered as a facet of the Demarcation Problem. I explain that Popper argues that science always advances from theory to observation ”“ not the opposite ”“ and that a critical attitude towards inferences of causality can free us from irrational dogmatism. Still, I sustain that Popper is closer to a reformer of Hume's thought than to a demolisher.
