Contemporary post-institutional literary practices: the poetic production of BRÔ MC’S

Abstract

Our objective is to make a study of the poetic production of the Brô MC’s, an indigenous Kaiowá and Guarani rap group. We start from the theoretical discussions that have been thinking about the expansion of the literary field as a way of arguing in favor of the increasingly constant need to reimagine the times and spaces of poetic production in contemporaneity. Our main hypothesis concerns the force of displacement of subjectivities promoted by the multiform practice of indigenous raps, which point to a post-autonomous, or post- institutional, space for the circulation of the poetic phenomenon. By challenging the limits of concepts such as authorship, genre and subjectivity, apparently stabilized in the Western theoretical tradition, indigenous poetic production forces us to an increasingly radical dive into other languages, so that frequenting the margins of language requires critical thinking that extends beyond the autonomous field of literature.
