ABSTRACT
Reforestation provides social, economic and environmental benefits to the cities and serves as a support to healthy communities. This research aims to investigate the standard of spatial distribution of street reforestation in urbanized areas of cities of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and its relationship with the Municipal Human Development Index (IDHM). The spatial analysis was carried out through the Moran Global Index for global data and Location Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA) for the 497 towns in the state. The Moran Global Index showed correlation of street reforestation of urbanized areas of the towns of Rio Grande do Sul and IDHM. The LISA Map highlighted the presence of hotspots or spatial cluster type high-high located to the northwest, on the border with Argentina and in the middle of the state; low-high in the north and type low-low and type high-low to the northeast and southeast of the state. The relationship of spatialization of these clusters with the IDHM is highlighted and the urgent measures concerning planning; incentive to reforestation of public roads in urbanized areas in the 24 towns of the low-low cluster, in the 8 towns of the low-high cluster, and in the 16 towns of the high-low cluster, mainly in the Functional Region 31 of planning of the state of Rio Grande do Sul in the COREDES Campos de Cima da Serra, Serra and Hortensias.
