Abstract

For scaling their services Health Assurance Companies, in their role of monitoring and planning their assistance network, require tools and methodologies that approach local realities. Thus, starting from three established analysis axes – territory, client (individual) and health service provider – a multidisciplinary methodology was prepared, intended to understand their relations and interactions. This methodology started with territory, and its regionalization in sanitary areas. Next, demographic data, clients’ utilization, utilization parameters referenced in the literature, the origin and destination of these clients, and the mapping of the Provider health services contracts were surveyed using the geographic information system (GIS). These elements were contemplated in an intuitive and dynamic design tool in Excel software, so as to provide analysis of the network and of each sanitary region. With this developed tool, the Provider assistance network could be known, as well as the clients’ needs, the territory and its flows, and, based on those data, strategies for decision making could be prepared.
