Abstract

I present here a new translation of Andromache, by Euripides, tragedy presented between 430 and 420 a. C., at the time of the Peloponnesian War. In this play themes like marriage, motherhood and misogyny are traditionally dealt with, allowing us to make interesting comparisons between this one and other tragedies related to the Trojan Cycle by Euripides himself and by Aeschylus and Sophocles. I hope, with this translation, to stimulate further studies on this piece.
