This paper reflects on the intersection of art and education in the practice of autobiographical painting, from the perspective of the Triangular Approach proposed by Ana Mae Barbosa. This methodology encourages artists to explore the historical context of their works and the individual expression that emerges from social experiences. The series of paintings entitled "Suffering in Paradise" engages with this debate by exploring the complexities of peripheral motherhood, drawing on personal and collective narratives that highlight women's struggles and resistance in contexts of marginalisation. The artist proposes to bring biographical elements, rescuing memories of motherhood that are not limited to romanticisation, but that expose the emotional burden and absences present in the lives of the women portrayed. In this sense, the work becomes a space for self-knowledge and reflection, not only individual but also social, where we have a testimony of the intersections between art, feminism, and contemporary social issues.
