Abstract

Adaptation of a novella included in the collection Vita dei campi, 1880. The success of the publication encouraged the author to create the theatrical drama that is translated here. Cf. films by Goffredo Alessandrini (La lupa), 1947 (= Furia), Alberto Lattuada (La lupa) 1953, Gabriele Lavia (La lupa), 1996 [Raoul Bova, Giancarlo Giannini, Monica Guerritore], and George Cukor (Selvaggio è il vento = Wild is the wind), 1957 [Anna Magnani, Anthony Quinn].
