Introduction

Abstract

In this dossier, we discuss some relationships between reading and the performing arts, to speak as broadly as possible. The perspective we were interested in investigating does not conceive of reading as merely an intermediary stage between the dramatic text and the staging of the play, but as an activity that has strength in itself, both didactic and epistemological, as well as aesthetic. There are various ways of exercising this activity, from collective table reading, group reading, of a dramaturgy to formats in which the text and reading are integrated into the scene; therefore, we are interested in discussing approaches and perspectives that mobilize the fields of reading and the performing arts.
