The author reflects on four different aspects of the popular glove puppet theater: 1- If the sustenance of traditions, based on belonging to a collective subject, has collapsed, how is it that the different puppetry traditions are still alive, and some of them very alive? 2- How to position the glove puppet with respect to this basic concept of the puppet theater that is Distance. 3-Importance of catharsis in the intimate experience of the traditional puppeteer, and 4- The so-called blackjack puppet, is it doomed to disappear or, on the contrary, does
it have much to say and perhaps teach future generations?
