Abstract
La lengua es el conducto por el cual nuestros pueblos han llevado el conocimiento de una generación a otra. Conocimientos que se han enriquecido y afinado durante cientos de años, aun hoy nuestra cosmovisión es diferente al de la forma de pensamiento dominante, a pesar de los embates modernizadores, unificadores en donde lo diferente no cabe. Los maseualmej de Cuetzalan del Progreso, ubicados en la Sierra Norte de Puebla, México, han mostrado que existen formas distintas de mirar, entender e interpretar a la naturaleza un ejemplo de ello es “at yoltok” (el agua está viva) en ella viven entes y seres que son custodios de tal elemento, uno de los relatos que dan testimonio de ello es el que aquí compartimos.
