Os futuros do indicativo: por uma análise sintática para a flexão verbal do português brasileiro

Abstract

Thissquib is an attempt to provide a syntactic analysis to the constituent structure of Brazilian Portuguese (BP) verbal forms. The analysis is developed under the theoretical assumptions of Distributed Morphology (HALLE & MARANTZ, 1993 and related work), by extending to BP the system proposed by Oltra-Massuet (1999a,b) to the verbal internal constituency of Catalan, whose main contribution resides on the redefinition of the notion of theme vowel. In the present work, we analyze the structure of the tenses traditionally known as ‘future’ and ‘conditional’, offering insights to the expansion of this analysis to other tenses in BP.
