A interface sintaxe-fonologia no caso dos blends

This squib aims to explain, in the realm of Distributed Optimality, based in Trommer (2001), blending as a morphophonological process that is derived in two stages. In the syntactic derivation, there is the establishment of a grammatical relationship between two roots already categorized, with the adjunction of an evaluative morpheme that codifies the humoristic reading to the structure derived. The evaluative morpheme carries instructions for the interpretation in the interfaces, since it influences the creation of prosodic domains and the semantic-encyclopedic interpretation of the derivation. In the PF branch, vocabulary insertion is determined by the existence of structural and alignment constraints that guarantee the phonological well-formedness of the structure; the Encyclopedia interprets the attributive relation between the roots and the speaker’s intention in producing a blend, being that intention present in the evaluative morpheme itself.
