Considered one of the most important writers in Latin America, Silvina Ocampo's short stories address themes that move between the strange and the fantastic that permeate the daily life of social life. In the work A Fúria e Outros Contos, published in 1959, the tales transfigure experiences that mix fantasy and the grotesque by problematizing human relationships. In this narrated world, is there any proposal for the future? By facing a dystopian present, is it possible to create possibilities for another sociability? This essay, therefore, aims to study, in the aforementioned work, the relationship between the formal and thematic organization characteristic of Ocampo's texts and the meaning that is constructed in them, confronting the cruel destiny to which his characters are subjected and the humanizing promise contained in the literary work, in its aesthetic effect.
