This paper analyzes two models of avant-garde construction of the landscape in the German intellectual field during the Weimar Republic. It aims at reading the linking between the image of the landscape and the concept of Heimat in the two chosen cases: Deutschland, Deutschland über alles, by Kurt Tucholsky and Das abenteuerliche Herz, by Ernst Jünger. The ideological framework of said works is here examined from Walter Benjamin and Ernst Bloch’s critical perspective.
