The analysis of Brasil versão brasileira (1962) emphasizes three features that make this play a mature expression of the awareness of the underdevelopment in the Brazilian theater. For the first time, in the national dramaturgy, a workers assembly is placed in scene. In formal terms, aesthetic procedures of the theater of agitation and propaganda are organized in an epic structure, avoiding the risk of the supremacy of the dramatic form. In a political sense, in a moment just before the military coup d’état in 1964, the play takes like target the politics of class alliance with the national bourgeoisie, majority proposal of the left wing strength of that time.
