Literature and literary education: when literature makes sense

The conditions of access to literary reading are not very favorable in the Brazilian context. Promoting sporadic access to the text, often the school has to do much more in the task of teaching about literature than to promote the reader's encounter with the text. This article brings some reflections on the teaching of literature
in school, the dichotomies that guide this process and supports the reading aloud as effective strategy to promote the aesthetic experience in the classroom and sharing of text reading possibilities.
