Abstract

This article seeks to analyze how power configurations are arranged in both objects of study and how authoritarianism controls society in all aspects. How authoritarian discourse and mass alienation contribute to an alteration of memory and history and the important role of these two elements for the invalidity or permanence of the totalitarian system. These are: contemporary intertextuality in dystopias, highlighting fear as an important term; power relations in the analyzed works, reflecting visible and invisible phenomena of social reality and memory; time as historicity and alienation as a way of altering and manipulating memory.
