Emergency Aid in Brazil during Covid-19’s pandemic

This essay aims to analyze the implementation of Emergency Aid in Brazil in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. It presents elements on the working situation and material conditions of the working class. Information about the Emergency Aid, resources, beneficiaries, regions reached and structure of the labor market were used. The sources of information are the Ministry of Citizenship, e-SIC, National Household Sample Surveys and the General Registry of Jobs and the Annual List of Social Information of the Labor and Social Security Ministry. The analysis is qualitative (inspired by the dialectical critical historical method) and quantitative (descriptive statistics). It was identified that the Emergency Aid reached the most precarious places of work and that the structure of the Registration System (CadÚnico) of the Social Assistance Policy was fundamental for this access.
